What is Salt Yak Charters?
Salt Yak Charters offers guided inshore kayak fishing trips and shoreline shark fishing adventures in Southwest Florida. We specialize in creating peaceful, exciting fishing experiences, complete with all the gear and guidance you need to enjoy the day.
Where do you operate?
We operate throughout Southwest Florida, launching from locations ranging from Tampa Bay to Naples. Specific launch points will be provided upon booking.
Booking & Payment
How do I book a trip?
You can book your adventure directly by calling/texting Will at 727-426-7143 or email: saltyak@hotmail.com. Availability is limited, so we recommend booking in advance.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Venmo, or credit card via PayPal. A deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable.
If Salt Yak Charters cancels your trip due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a full refund or reschedule your trip at no additional cost.
Trip Information
What’s included in the trip?
We provide everything you need for a successful fishing adventure:
Hobie Kayak rentals with pedal-driven systems.
Fishing gear, including rods, reels, and tackle.
Live bait for inshore fishing.
Safety equipment (e.g., life jackets).
How long do trips last?
Trips typically last 4–6 hours, depending on your booking preferences.
How many people can join a trip?
We can accommodate up to 3 people per trip. Each guest will have their own kayak.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes, you’ll need a Florida fishing license before your trip. You can easily purchase one online at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
What to Bring
What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing the following:
Water or hydration drinks.
A hat and sunscreen.
Sunglasses (polarized are ideal for spotting fish).
Snacks or light meals.
Your Florida fishing license (required).
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet. Quick-drying materials are recommended.

What types of fish will I catch?
We target a variety of inshore species, including:

For shark fishing, you’ll have the chance to reel in exciting species from the shoreline. This is a separate charter.
Do I need fishing experience?
Not at all! We welcome anglers of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. Our expert guide will help you every step of the way.
Is it safe?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. We provide life jackets and ensure all kayaks and equipment are well-maintained. Your guide will also give safety instructions before launching.
Weather and Rescheduling
What happens if the weather is bad?
In the event of bad weather (e.g., high winds or storms), we may need to reschedule your trip for your safety. If rescheduling isn’t possible, we will issue a full refund.
What if I’m running late?
Please arrive on time to ensure you get the most out of your trip. If you’re running late, call us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
