If you never been kayak fishing, I would like to take a moment to tell you why we enjoy it so much. Here are our top 4 reasons that we enjoy fishing from a kayak.
1. You can get to spots on the water that traditional boats cannot reach.
This gives you a huge advantage when it comes to fishing. You can get pretty shallow in one of our Hobie kayaks, which means you can fish where the fish are hiding. This is especially great with redfish that love to hide up in the mangroves. We also have great luck catching speckled sea trout as we can troll the grass flats which are extremely shallow.
2. It's not just about the fishing, but also about the adventure.
Kayaking is an intimate experience with Mother Nature. An angler can quickly be reminded that Mother Nature is in charge. The adrenaline rush you get when you hook a big monster fish and he drags your kayak around, is second to none. It is very addicting. And...you get to have up-close experiences with dolphins, manatees, and other wildlife without disturbing them or harming them.
3. A Kayak is the equalizer
It allows us to catch large fish on light tackle. When the fish can drag the boat, it take the pressure off the rod and reel and can increase your chances of catching a monster.
4. Physical activity
Our Hobie kayaks are peddle driven. You definitely get a workout as you peddle your way to your fishing spots. The good news is that you are using your legs and feet to peddle verses your arms, so that you are hands free and able to fish at the same time.
